Introducing…..Miss Ansley Harper [4th of July firecracker]

Posted on 7.9.2009

To give you a little background ( I know how all of my blog-watchers love that)- Sarah and I have been very best friends since the second grade when I asked if I could jump rope with her. I was a city-slicker moved to the country- and she took me under her wing. Even through my move back to the east coast, Sarah and I had maintained our friendship. When I returned to the “good old” country back in April of last year- we picked up where we left off in 8th grade! After a long battle of trying to bring Ansley into existence, I was the VERY first person to know about little Ansley (yup, that’s right, even before Ansley’s dad, Jason!) ;) So, after 8 long months of waiting, I got the phone call that Sarah was in labor and about to start pushing. Now…..I had gone to bed at 1:30am and the call came at 2:30am. So, being the faithful friend that I am, I got in my car and headed to the hospital. I had bullied Sarah into agreeing to let me do “birth” photography. For those of you who know how modest Sarah is; I really had to put my powers of persuasion into overdrive on that one! So, I greeted her whole family at the hospital. Being too anxious to wait in the cozy waiting room, like normal human beings, we were all camped outside of Sarah’s labor door…..on the floor….the hard, cold, floor- from 2:30 until 7am. After over 3 hours of pushing, they realized Ansley was transverse- and they would have to perform a c-section. Running on 1 hour of sleep, I decided to go home and wait for everyone to call me to come back. OF COURSE, as soon as I left, they performed the c-section and let everyone in to snap pictures of baby Ansley! So, back I came, one eye open, latte and camera in tow to perform a quick shoot of Ansley’s first day on earth. It was worth it. ;) The images below are from Ansley’s 5 day old shoot at my studio. The out-takes and videos captured during this shoot are side-splitting! So- please enjoy the first peak at my new god-baby, Ansley Harper Bandermann.
