As all photographers know- it is a very different experience to be on the other side of the glass. This experience was so much fun. After hair by the talented Carrie Myers of Salon Savvy and Makeup by the magical artist John Paul of Belladona- I was ready for my shoot – by sweetness herself- Jessica Richardson of Jaden Vee Photography. It is so good to have a photographer friend!
RUSSIAN LOVE. [A CONCEPTUAL SHOOT]
Styled by Sarah Ferrell of Gypsy Rhythm.
The Concept: Subtle alter ego of a Russian Couple.
Scene one is the proper reception of a husband home from his time in the military. Scene two is where the wife reveals the more passionate side of her personality and in turn his as well! A huge thank you to Sarah for her amazing styling work. She is a pure genius. And- to Lindsay Woods, for her help and to Jonathan and Rachel for being such sports!
Ya know how some images make you “feel” a certain way. This image actually makes me feel cozy.
This post is loooong overdue. Meet baby Lennon Tyler Ferrell- one of my very best friend’s Sarah Ferrell’s newest addition. This shoot was done when Lennon was 6 days old using some of Sarah’s fantastic decor.
OF COURSE sassy big sister had to get in a shot as well!
When I posted these of facebook, I made sure to present them with a disclaimer. I will do a quick one as I blog as well! Aslyn and I were playing last Saturday afternoon- like girls often do- in my makeup. She asked, “Can you do my eyes smokey like you do yours?” I hesitated for a second and then though….what’s the harm?! It disappears with the swipe of a makeup remover soaked cotton ball! So- away we went….into smokey makeup land….and had a blast! After I looked at her face- first I flashed forward about 10 years, which was quite alarming- but then I just saw art! I asked if we could tease her hair and do a quick photo shoot. She obliged. I wanted to make it clear- that I do not condone children wearing makeup before about 16 years of age. This was just a fun makeup day and a fun photo shoot. Regardless, Sassy A took it extremely seriously…..See images below. =)

This weekend was a spectacular one. When you have the chance to share in not only witness crazy love, but capturing it….it doesn’t get much better then that! This bride, her maids, her family as well as the groom, his men and his family were all so kind, gracious and most of all a BIG BALL OF GOOD TIMES!!!!! I, as the photographer, was in photo heaven because I was allotted 3 hours to ride around on a trolley with the entire bridal party to find unique spots to shoot in STL in between the ceremony and reception. Champagne and beer were being passed around…..the bridal party was breakin’ it down- down the center aisle of the Trolley to Justin Beiber and Michael Jackson as we drove around. It was about as fun a group as you can get! The bride and groom were game for just about anything- including wading around in a huge fountain in the middle of downtown STL. Love these kinds of weddings….and LOVE this kind of love! ENJOY!
Every now and then, an image is captured that radiates an actual feeling and emotion. This is my favorite kind of image. It makes you feel…..it makes you remember…..it makes you see the future, and the past. In this image is my little Ansley, my very dear friend Sarah’s baby girl that just turned 2. Her dad was blowing bubbles and she was giggling and jumping with all of her might and hope. The excitement was oozing from her every pore! She was determined to capture that bubble…and she was having the time of her life doing it. Don’t we, as adults, need a little bit of that silly, child-like enthusiasm, and hope and excitement over the little things and the little accomplishments? I love this image and even more, I love what it represents.
