hauntingly beautiful….

Posted on 9.9.2009

This little girl was just hauntingly beautiful. There is something unique about the way that she photographs that makes the eye more interested in the image. Not to mention her sweet little brother was just a bowl full of joy! Enjoy a few of my favorites.

Introducing…..Miss Ansley Harper [4th of July firecracker]

Posted on 7.9.2009

To give you a little background ( I know how all of my blog-watchers love that)- Sarah and I have been very best friends since the second grade when I asked if I could jump rope with her. I was a city-slicker moved to the country- and she took me under her wing. Even through my move back to the east coast, Sarah and I had maintained our friendship. When I returned to the “good old” country back in April of last year- we picked up where we left off in 8th grade! After a long battle of trying to bring Ansley into existence, I was the VERY first person to know about little Ansley (yup, that’s right, even before Ansley’s dad, Jason!) ;) So, after 8 long months of waiting, I got the phone call that Sarah was in labor and about to start pushing. Now…..I had gone to bed at 1:30am and the call came at 2:30am. So, being the faithful friend that I am, I got in my car and headed to the hospital. I had bullied Sarah into agreeing to let me do “birth” photography. For those of you who know how modest Sarah is; I really had to put my powers of persuasion into overdrive on that one! So, I greeted her whole family at the hospital. Being too anxious to wait in the cozy waiting room, like normal human beings, we were all camped outside of Sarah’s labor door…..on the floor….the hard, cold, floor- from 2:30 until 7am. After over 3 hours of pushing, they realized Ansley was transverse- and they would have to perform a c-section. Running on 1 hour of sleep, I decided to go home and wait for everyone to call me to come back. OF COURSE, as soon as I left, they performed the c-section and let everyone in to snap pictures of baby Ansley! So, back I came, one eye open, latte and camera in tow to perform a quick shoot of Ansley’s first day on earth. It was worth it. ;) The images below are from Ansley’s 5 day old shoot at my studio. The out-takes and videos captured during this shoot are side-splitting! So- please enjoy the first peak at my new god-baby, Ansley Harper Bandermann.

My Memorial Day Muse [THAI]

Posted on 5.25.2009

It is memorial day and what am I doing….working!  HUGE SURPRISE for those of you who know me, I am sure! I am kid-less this holiday because MIM MIM and POP POP took my two munchkins to Branson. So….I awoke half-heartedly with a throbbing headache this morning and reluctantly got myself ready at 8am to do a shoot for an out of town couple before they left today! As I welcomed this couple and grandmother into my studio, I caught a glimpse of my subject and suddenly, all was well in the world again! =) I suddenly forgot that I had a massive headache and had to be in the studio at 9am on a holiday, because this baby is a photographer’s dream come true. This baby’s unique look, the perfect twist of asian and caucasian qualities, made him a mini muse for me this morning. I have spoken of shoots that are- well….inspiring….and this certainly was one. Because of the couple’s travel back to their homeland some 6.5 hrs away today, I had to race home, edit their images and come back in for their ordering session! I could not bear to force them to see their images on a small computer screen at home! SO….here he is….MY MEMORIAL DAY MUSE…..THAI.

Thai and his grandmother…I know I will get in trouble for calling her that, but I can’t remember the thai word for grandmother in which she refers to herself!

Pastor Jeff and His Beautiful Girls….

Posted on 5.13.2009

So, when my pastor came to eat at the infamous MARIO’S PIZZA in…..yup….Advance, MO (on a farm no less), I just so happened to be there eating and hanging out with my fam behind the counter. Over a calzone and soda, the Pastor asked if we could “hook up” his headshots- (no…he didn’t actually say it in those words, but that is what he asked in his pastoral way! =) Anyway, I said OF COURSE and  that I would love to shoot his entire family, in fact! I had already had the chance to shoot an amazing headshot of his youngest, Rachel for her band- and I had been dying to point my camera at her beautiful older sister Emily! So….we did just that! Below are a few of the images of the pastor and his girls. I was unable to persuade the sweet Lois to join in on the fun….but I will keep working on her!! ENJOY the images of this amazing family!!

These little girls belong to the gentlemen who posed for my LA actor’s portfolio, Pete Deluca. These girls along with Pete’s beauty for a wife were fabulous models! Enjoy a few of my faves from their session.

Miss Sarah…..SASSY SENIOR [continued from the sneak peak!!]

Posted on 4.12.2009

This senior was one of the sassiest that I have worked with. She has the natural ability to move her body like a model. Her big blue eyes and fabulous hair didn’t hurt either! We also found out that she will be attending college in Mobile, Alabama, where Jenn will be heading another branch of Bella Bambino! We are going to use her in some capacity to represent Bella Bambino down south! ENJOY!

i shot a senator…….

Posted on 3.14.2009

For some reason, I think the title of this blog post is hilarious! =) Anyway, I really did have the privilege of “shooting” a Missouri senator yesterday (the non-violent type of shooting, of course). Senator Crowell needed some new headshots, so I decided to do a few typical ”senator” looking images and a few bella bambino “senator” images!  There was a lot of laughing….a lot of zoo-lander head turns, “confused dog” chin tilts and even some horsey sounds to get what we needed! I think that we nailed it! ENJOY!!
