The Bella Launch Party was an absolute blast. It celebrated and showcased two things- the new Bella Bambino website and the studio makeover. I will chat now about each transformation individually. Let’s start with the fabulously designed site. Who is responsible for this dramatic change. Well- one very talented and innovative human, Kyle DeWitt of Print&Pixel. (Don’t you just know how cool and innovative someone would be from a company named Print&Pixel?) Ya see, before this website, I had a perfectly fine, perfectly functional site. When I first me Kyle this is what he said after looking at my site. He said- “It will do- but there is no SHERI in it.” Huh? I replied. “Yes- it could be any talented photographer’s site. It has none of your personality in it.” He was right. The more I thought about it, the more that I realized that after going to my site- sure- you were able to see my work, and my photography style and obtain all of the information that you needed. However, I craved a site that people would leave and have a taste for my personality. I wanted it to reflect not only who I am, but also what your Bella experience will be like. So- I wanted my new site to scream FUN and EXCITING, UNIQUE and HIGH END all of which will result in exquisite art of your children. See, before, I had a template. The same template that any other photographer could purchase and tweak to their needs. There is not a thing wrong with a website template ( I am no knockin it- I used templates for 6 years). But this site was born on a blank sheet of paper in Kyle’s think pad over a steaming cinnamon dulce latte (non-fat, only half the pumps of dulce and and extra shot of expresso) at Starbucks. It was created from scratch to scream BELLA BAMBINO. PS- I want to clarify- that Kyle wrote ALL of the copy after following me around and experiencing BELLA BAMBINO for himself. My sister- the feisty thing that she is gave me an extremely hard time about the wording being highly flattering- she thought I wrote it myself. I told Kyle he should have put quotations around the verbiage and claimed being the author so people didn’t think that I was hyping MYSELF up. Below are some images showcased at the Launch Party explaining some features of the new site. You must go to the actual site to get the full experience.
Ok- onto the Studio Makeover. This miracle began with the an eye roll and an “I guess it is time to hang some images on the walls and get some new furniture.” If you can’t tell, I am not an interior designer. I know what I like. I like eclectic and mixtures of textures and patterns. Bold colors mixed with black and white….etc. However, I do not have the time nor the vison to make these dreams come to fruition. Meet Sarah Ferrell of GYPSY RYTHYM. AND- we cannot forget Heather DiStefano (seamstress extraordinaire). It started with the decision to use the fabric that I purchased a year ago (800$ worth) to recover furniture at my house. Ok, clearly, I forgot who I am and also forgot to measure how much fabric I really needed- oh and forgot to check the price tag. So….as is very Sheri, in the corner of my laundry room sat this fantastic turquoise and fantastic black and cream striped fabric. I asked the talented Heather to create slip covers for my studio furniture. There the vision was born. The day of the party. YES, I said THE DAY of the party. I gave Sarah Ferrell my credit card and told her to go and make magic. She came back two hours later with 18 bags of goodies, and this is what my studio looked like in an hour. Yup. She is that good. We also debuted the new line of custom of frames that Bella Bambino will now be carrying- CORNICI FRAMES. These frames are so magnificently unique! Stay tuned for more details about CORNICI. The images of the new studio look is below. Special thanks to the following people for making this transformation and the Bella Launch an success: Kyle DeWitt (Print&Pixel) , Sarah Ferrell (GYPSY RYTHM) , Sarah Neal, Ben Schlenker (picture hanger and odd and end magician), Sherilyn Borders (My Three Sweets) and Doris Grippo-of course, and William Wymore (CORNICI FRAMES).
I know that some of you may think that I put Aslyn up to this stuff. But- I do not. I just am there to capture.
I love snow days. Wait….that simple sentence doesn’t quite encapsulate how I truly feel about snow days. I cherish, delight in, and absolutely treasure snow days. Why? You ask. Well- it all started when I was just a young school girl. See- if you know me at all, you know- I love nothing more then sleeping in in the morning. It is my favorite thing. Well, as a child- when it is a school day- you get to sleep in- as an adult- and a mother- I still get to sleep in on snow days. AHHHHHHH! If you though I was going to say- the reason I love snow days is the beautiful pure white spread we see as we look out the window- or the steamy hot cocoa that seems more then necessary- or the snow ice cream- you aren’t that far off. But- those things certainly fall after looking up kfvs12.com and seeing closed next to your kids’ school and falling right back into your cozy, toasty bed. Beyond the normal sledding, hot cocoa drinking and movie watching that goes on over here- sometimes- we also just decide to do a little hair and makeup and snap some breathtaking head shots. Below is beautiful Heather Davis. While she is looking so serene and angelic, I am pretty sure our kids were trampling on each other in the background. How lucky am I to have such pretty subjects to shoot on snow days!
You know the few people in your life beyond your family that would be there through the thick and the thin…..these are my few; my three girls and their families. Enjoy!
You know those images that evoke an emotion, because they make us remember. They make us remember how it felt when our babies were teeny tiny. It is amazing that a picture can do that, but it absolutely can. This is one of those images. This baby boy is 1 and this blue doggy is his special “thing”. Enjoy.
IT’s PARTY TIME at Bella Bambino Studio on Friday night- the 14th at 7pm! Below is the invitation text. PS….the talented Kyle DeWitt from Print & Pixel both designed the print material and wrote the copy below. A huge THANK YOU to Kyle for adding all of your splender to this event!
