This conceptual shoot was inspired by a couple’s Vogue Feature that I found a few months ago. The couple was wardrobed in beautiful garbs from the the 1950s. So….an idea was born. I knew that I desired to have images shot of Aaron and I, and I knew that it had to have a unique spin. I am intrigued by the vibe of vintage clothing. Once the idea was mentioned, the decade was tweaked a tad- by Aaron, in fact. Aaron, who lived a good portion of his life as a professional golfer, had the idea to dress as a vintage golfer- knickers and all. The look he wanted to go for was more of the “Bagger Vance” look. So……the decade was shifted to the 1930s. Sarah Ferrell, of Gypsy Rythym, was of course the wardrobe artist that was in charge of pulling the vision together with proper wardrobe pieces as well as props that made the shoot look more authentic. Where did she go for the goods……PASTIME ANTIQUES of course! Pastime Antiques located on Main Street in Cape Girardeau aided in turning this concept into a reality. As always, they were gracious enough to search their fabulous store to find many accessories and props (such as the vintage camera I am holding and the antique barber chair for the shaving scene) to really set the mood for a VINTAGE LOVE. Hair and Makeup, a crucial part of any conceptual shoot, was once again performed the by the amazingly talented Rachael Watkins. Who, you ask, shot the concept- seeing as how I was on the other side of the camera this time? Well, the fantastic Bella Bambino Artist from my East Coast Branch- Candice Mumaw was behind the camera. As always, there are myriad hilarious stories from this shoot……too many to share, in fact. There are also so many untraditional methods that we all utilize to make things look just the way we like….such as Sarah pouring red-wine on a white flower that was in her car and then rolling it around in dirt so that it didn’t look too white for the brown dress that I am wearing in the last scene. Conceptual shoots are always a blast….a challenge…..a lot of laughs, and a whole lot of work. They are usually worth it. A huge thank you to all who helped make this vision a reality! ENJOY

For my babies’ mini fall shoot…..I decided I wanted it to be “JCrew” inspired. So- off to Crew Cuts (JCREW’s Kid’s) I went. I wanted Coleson and Aslyn to look eclectic and funky, especially Aslyn because that is how prefers to be styled anyway. With the help of Sarah the fashion guru (GYPSY RYTHYM) my outfit was designed to coordinate with that look. I found an old abandoned school house right by my house which had the exact feel that I was looking for! My amazing East Coast Photographer Candice flew in for a Conceptual Shoot that we are doing today- so she was here to snap the ones of us together. Here is the result! Ps…..my kids were absolute troopers because it was 93 degress and with their layered fall outfits, it was certainly a challenge! ENJOY.
I do really bond with most of my clients. However, every now and then there is a little tot that just absolutely melts my heart and that I actually would consider taking home. This little guy is one of those…….Sweet Baby Alex. Thanks Kristi and Matt for allowing me to capture you amazing baby boy again and again.
Hello Everyone! So sorry for the lack of blogging lately. With the kids going back to school and things being so busy at the studio- there has been little time for sharing! With my excuses out of the way….on to the images. Here are just a handful of images from some recent shoots. ENJOY!
