So, my Sunday morning coffee has apparently turned into Sunday “Night” coffee….tea, actually, because that is what I am drinking! This Sunday discussion is all about Coleson. You see, I realized that I barely ever feature Coleson on my blog. Aslyn dominates my website and blog. That is not because she is the favored child…..that is because she adores the camera. Coleson does NOT love it, he actually borderline loathes it. However, when the price is right, he will do the job. It has been quite some time since I shot and showcased this fabulously beautiful little man, so I thought it was time to hire him. Well, today was well worth the price ( a stuffed TY beanie baby from Walgreens). Sundays are not only my favorite day, but also my kids. It is known around here as SUNDAY FUNDAY. This is the day that “POP POP” hangs out with the kids, gives them rides on the four-wheeler and tractor, puts both of them to work digging up weeds etc. They love it. So, here are a few images from our day and my Mini Coleson shoot. ENJOY!
Yes…this is Aslyn in the bokah of this image…..you know she couldn’t not have some part in the shoot!

Anyone who knows my work, knows that I love images where children are staring intently into the lens of my camera. I actually often discourage smiling, well, smiling the way that their mom’s have taught them to say cheese for pictures, anyway!
However, if one has witnessed me perform a session, he or she has to know that I am also an absolute goofball and that I have very special stratiegies for provoking true belly laughs from my little subjects! This joy, the true joy of a child is my very favorite thing to capture. Here are a few examples of that from my last few sessions! ENJOY.

Just a few favorites from 2 recent senior shoots! ENJOY!

So, I do acknowledge that little Aslyn has been saturating my blog lately….and poor Coleson is never feature [yes, I have another child
]. However, a talent agent from NYC just called yesterday and is interested in Aslyn for commercials- so we have a meeting set up in NYC to see if she will be a famous or not! So, she has been practicing her sassiness for her meeting. Today, in her Matilda Jane dress and pink cowgirl boots- she struck this pose, all on her own- and I couldn’t help but feature this image. I am in love with it.

Yesterday I shot 61….yes, 61 cheerleaders in the nooks and crannies of the downtown. When I was asked if I would shoot Aslyn’s cheer school’s images, I told them I would only do it if I was able to shoot in my style! That, I did…and we had a great time! Here are just a few of Aslyn from yesterday. I will post some other cheer images after the parents have seen them!

Aslyn acted as my assistant while shooting the other girls! This was her prize.

My mother awoke one morning and like every other morning, showered and began to dress. She swiped her pants up which lay over the her tub and proceeded to put them on. She felt a prick on her leg. She ran her hands over her pants assuming there was a pin or something attatched and she discovered an unusual lump, which she sqeezed and took her pants back off. The lump was a spider, a brown spider. She had clearly been bitten, but being the anti-worrier that my mother is, she thought nothing of it. After a few hours she began to break out in hives an noticed a red and swollen spot on her thigh. After waiting it out overnight (because she is the opposite of me) she went to the hospital. The bite and rash had progressively gotten worse and they told her that she had been bitten by a brown recluse. My mother can tell by the expression on the nurses face that this is a big deal. “What do I.” my mother asked semi-horrified. “Nothing that you can do.” says the nurse. She informs my mother that this is the ONLY bite that has no anti-venum, and what this spider’s venum does is actually liquify your cells. It eats your skin away and there is no way to idicate how bad it will be. My mother did a little research on her own and learned that this spider’s bite can truly be a tragedy. The stories on the internet are certainly less then plesant; stories of a 2 year old who was bitten on the face and half of his face was eaten away; stories of legs and arms needing to be amputated; images of people who literally have no flesh left on their appendages. So…..my mother waits. The past 5 weeks have been pretty ugly. Between an oozing sore and a black hole and excrusiating, burning pain- it has been a jouney for my poor mom! It has been 5 weeks and her wound is still not nearly healed. See the images below to look at her progress…or lack there of! And….shake your clothes and check your tubs and get call an exterminator!!!!! [UPDATE! As I was publishing this blog post, my mom found ANOTHER brown recluse on her other leg in the shower!! Everyone pray that she did NOT get bit again!!]

Today was a very special shoot for me. When I was 10 or 11, I think, I went to PA with my very best friend Sarah- to visit her cousins. Little did I know, I would meet 3 amazingly fantastic girls that I would bond with instantly! I had one of the best weeks that I can remember of my childhood that week in PA. Anyway, today was the first time that I had seen 2 of them in….well….16 years!!! (thought I was too young to say anything was 16 years ago!!) It was a fun reunion and we did a super sassy shoot with little Miss Addison and her mom and aunt today. Here is just one little sneak peak image that I couldn’t resist posting!! (PLUS….I promised my blog readers a post-a-day! Ps- that is more difficult then I thought!) I just think that this image represents the strong bond between this amazing mother and daughter! ENJOY- and more to come!!!

This young gentleman traveled from Springfield for his shoot! He and his family are friends that I met at church. After perfoming a shoot for his band, Mr. Reeves wanted a solo shoot to commemorate his final year of highschool (aka – a senior shoot) =) This family is one of the most genuinely kind families that I have ever met. Zach has such a unique character and I my goal was to capture that! It was such a fun shoot and was great to visit with the Reeves again! Here are a few of my favorites from our session!

So….I have been severely, severely neglecting the blog world! I would like to extend my deepest apologies for those blog-watchers who are faithful to the daily or even weekly blog check.
