I spent this last weekend shooting in Nashville. It was an amazing weekend, and one of the highlights was shooting little lady london. She is now 3 months old and she is the daughter of a very special friend! I shot london as a brand newbie- at one week old and this was her next modeling session! The great part about shooting a child whose parents I know is that you can do all kinds of risky things…..like put a baby in a bird bath…..and make her lay on a rock etc. Below are a few sneak peaks!! Some of my favorite images from a session are the out-takes!! In case you don’t know what an out-take is- it is an image that “happens” when you aren’t set up to capture! Often like the bloopers that occur on movies and the funny blips that don’t make the actual movie- these are sometimes sweet little gems of the session that really showcase the kiddo’s personality. This shot is the perfect example. This little guy was SO full of energy and personality…..for proof….see below!

Ok- so Aslyn turns 3 in a few days and since I have not had a shoot with her since Christmas, I decided to dress her up in this new gettup that I purchased for my studio- and shoot her. Now, any fellow photographer will tell you, shooting your own child is no walk in the park. My little azzy is no exception. My son Coleson is even tougher….hence the post of only Aslyn! Anyway- I now have to pay my children a modeling fee to do a shoot. Yes….I know….that is sad, but I do say that good work should be compensated somehow! My daughter’s going rate is 5.00 per shoot. However, she decided to opt out of her normal fee for a stuffed dog from Bob Evans =). So- after all of that explaination- here is aslyn- age 3.
AND…I frequent a coffee shop in Cape, by my studio called Cup and Cork. The owners are such fun people. I decided to take azzy outside of their shop during our “lunch break” and do this shot!
My baby girl attended an event with me this weekend. She decided to wear a ballerina outfit…..I decided to let her! Anyway- this was on the dance floor. She took a break from her dancing to get a little of that thumb! I can’t believe my baby girl will be three in 6 days! =(
OKAY- I am always a little leary of doing sneak peaks, because I don’t want to ruin the surprise for the client….but I couldn’t help but to share this shot. I was hired to shoot an very special event for the parents of this gentleman. All of the children were together- and as part of the celebration of the event, they wanted it captured…..Bella Bambino Style! This family was SO much fun to work with! There were a total of 10 individuals that I shot….individually and in packs…..AND boy- was there A LOT of personality in those frames! There were SO many characters in one backyard! Anyway….here is one of the first shots that I chose to edit from evening. I LOVE the character in this shot.
OK…..one more….this mother was stunning in person. She SO reminded me of someone famous!

Every Sunday morning I am going to just discuss something random…..who knows what I will feel like blabbing about?! This morning I feel like talking about my mother. My mother is an extremely talented woman….she has a specific talent that not many people have. She is a gifted…..RETURNER/REFUNDEE/GET MONEY BACK-er. Yes, thats right- she can return ANY purchase- at ANY time- to ANY store. Not- only can she get EXACTLY what she wants out of the transaction- meaning- money back, an exchanged item, credit; she has the ability to achieve her goal, get gifts beyond it and have the customer service individuals apologizing profusely. The funny thing is that it doesn’t matter how outrageous the return is. She can do it. People often come to her with a gadget that they need to send back, but…..the return days have expired- or it is broken by their own fault….etc etc. They challenge her….”I know you are good…..but there is NO way you can return this!” She, of course, accepts their challenge and ALWAYS triumphs! Her stories are hillarious! Her most recent feat was a challenge of my own. I had a cell phone bill come in. My normal bill is 50.00 a month. I read the balance before me- 837.89!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! UM…..yup- I went over my minutes by something silly- like 3000- (must have had a lot to say that month!) Anyway- it was clear that it was an overage on my part. I had NO justification for attempting to reduce it. I called- they said- sorry, you went over your minutes. I said- ok. I called my mother. She called me back and said “Your balance is now 164.00.” She will often not divulge her secrets! She is even funnier during her in-person battles, because she reaches all of 4’10 in height! I continue to tell her that she has missed her calling and needs to start her own business….Now we just need a name…..
A family with five kiddos could be a challenge, but these five sylbing were so easy-going and great to work with. I think that it is amazing that each one has his or her own unqiue look….and each had such a unique personality to match!
I have recently done numerous engagement shoots! The first set of images were shot at my Missouri location and the second couple was shot at my West Virginia location. Both couples were super fun to work with and I can’t WAIT to shoot their weddings!
