Both of my babies had birthdays since I last posted! Ps- Sorry about the recent lag in blog posts! I have been swamped. Anyway- My Coleson is no longer a little boy…..he is now 7. I cannot believe I am old enough to have a 7 year old. Coleson is growing like a weed and actually just started tackle football. His birthday celebration was a gym…not a lot of fantastic photo ops there. Aslyn, however wanted to have a SASSY PARTY/SHOOT. So- we had hair, makeup and nails……pink glitter adorning the floors and hot pink ballons floating in the air with none other than Taylor Swift blasting in the background. Then…..came a little sassy shoot. Here are a few images from her day.
This first shot is my favorite from the day- this is mid-way through her hair - after this comes the before shots as well as her sassy shoot.

Big A & Little A

So- I am not sure if you avid blog-followers remember that- too gorgeous for words- couple from last summer…..that steamy - rodeo cowboy and his love- engagement shoot. Well, guess what time is is? Time for the unveiling of their BRIDE/GROOM images! Sarah (also one of my very best friends in the world) is as un-traditional as they come concerning her nuptuals. This shoot- in true Wedding Day attire- occured an entire week before their wedding. They have chosen to have a very small and intimate ceremony, followed by a huge party at Ty’s parent’s ranch- where Sarah will change into a sassy party dress. Speaking of ‘THE DRESS’….there is a little back story I would like to give concerning the dress featured in this image. For those who have not been exposed to our Sassy Sarah- I have to inform you that Sarah is an absolute fashionista. Style and Fashion are her gift. I knew that gown shopping was going to be a monumental task. I was sure that we would have to have a weekend in New York and come home with a 10,000 Couture Gown. Because Sarah simply will not settle for something ordinary when it comes to her fashion. She had a very clear idea of what she wanted to look like. There were numerous stipulations, but most importantly, she wanted to have an antique/vintage feel to her look. One day we were downtown and happened to walk into an antique store on Main Street. I saw Sarah gazing up above a rack of vintage clothing and hanging there was a dress. I said- “GET IT DOWN!” I made her try it on without looking at herself. It fit so perfectly that the last inch of zipper was tough to get up. I looked at her- and gasped…..”You found your gown.” So- long story short- Sarah, the fashionista, found this gown in a antique store on Saturday afternoon….for 85.00. Unbelievable.
Back to the more important topic- Sarah and Ty are soul mates. When you are around them, you feel luckiness radiating from them. Both of them….Lucky…..Lucky to have found each other- one truly the other’s ONE. They are the perfect mix of humor, logic, ease, fiestiness and romance. That man also loves Sarah’s little girl Mia like she is his own. You can see it every time he looks at her. It is heartwarming….and inspiring.
After their stunning conceptual engagement shoot- I felt the pressure to make their Bride/Groom images as inspired. Our original plan fell through, so one cloudy afternoon, we rode around until we found these three spots along a country road in the middle of nowhere. This is what I always envisioned wedding images should look like. I am ecstatic that I was able to put my vision onto film- so to speak. Following the BRIDE/GROOM feature is the images from the actual nuptuals. This ceremony was one of the most personal, unique, emotional and intimate I have ever been a part of. There was not a dry eye in the house- between the emotional song by their close friend being sung as the Bridal Party came down the aisle, and the personal vows, and the 10 Things I Love About You list, and the moment when Ty got down on his knee and gave Mia (Sarah’s daughter) a ring and told her why he loved her so much and was so happy to be her step-dad…..none of us had much of a chance of holding back the tears. So…here they are. The Ferrells.

NOW FOR THE ACTUAL NUPTUALS…………..

Mom of the Groom…..

This sweet Paducah newborn was one of the best 2 week models that I have had yet. We shot in a beautifully decorated Paducah home, so the character that was infused by the decor only added to the feel of the shoot! I can’t wait until I am able to post more!! Stay Tuned….

I just love this image and thought it ‘blog-worthy’. Aaron was certainly resistant to me shooting him, so I had about 8 seconds to capture this. Not so bad for an 8 second shoot…..Imagine what I could do with an hour…… =)

For Jessica……A deserved sneak peak of your three sweetie pies.

I awoke on Mother’s Day bright and early and asked my offspring for one thing…..a simple photoshoot. Aslyn jumped up excitedly….Coleson shot me down like a low flying quail. Here are the images of my childen on Mother’s Day- (well- one of Coleson that I snuck ;) HAPPY BELATED MOTHER’S DAY to all the moms out there!

Aslyn- the diva that she is- needed a warm sweatshirt wrapped around her between shots.

And one of Coles that I “snuck” the other day! I will take what I can get. =)

This shoot was special to me for numerous reasons. First of all, these babies belong to my dear friend Heather and are best friends to my babies. Secondly, I know that the connection between these children and their grandmothers on each side is very special and needed to be captured for so many reasons. With that said, enjoy [A GRANDMOTHERS' LOVE].

The post that follows this warning/explaination is that of a series of conceptual shoots that I shot to present my {e dolce sassy} branch. WARNING: These images below range from mild to lingerie shots- if this would be offensive to you, please scroll quickly past it! This branch is BOUDOIR PORTRAITURE- the definition of BOUDOIR is ( A style of print that is normally a lingerie style or an implied nude glamour or similar shot in an indoor, bedroom setting.) I am first and foremost a BABY & CHILD photographer- which is my true passion. However, after holding numerous “SASSY SHOOT” days filled with ladies that we swooped up, did wardrobe styling, professional hair and makeup and did a mini shoot that made them feel beautiful- I decided that a branch of my business was needed to offer many levels of boudoir photography. There is a large spectrum of buodoir photography. It ranges from complete nudity (which I have chosen is not for me), lingerie, and sassy/sexy wardrobe to just beautiful headshots of women looking and feeling their best and being captured. The E DOLCE SASSY {FANTASY/CONCEPTUAL} series was created to bring attention to the new branch. I have chosen to post it on my blog to allow the public to know that I now offer these private shoots to individual women. I wanted to give this explanation because I did not want the first post a new client saw to be E DOLCE SASSY and assume that this is all that I do. I wanted a warning for those clients who might not appreciate this type of art. Like I said, I am first and foremost a BABY/CHILD photographer, but have chosen to offer ladies an unique BOUDOIR experience that could range from super mild (just a pretty/sassy headshot) to a little more risqué like a lingerie shoot. This is a type of photography that celebrates a woman and her beauty.
absolutely breath-taking! You are the best there is!!!
